A see whose chair stands empty is recorded as vacant rather than filled with a guess. On what a bishop is, see the bishop.

The cathedral

Cathedral of Saint Florentina stands in Zárate–Campana, the church that holds the cathedra from which this see takes its name.

Its co-cathedral is Co-Cathedral of the Nativity of the Lord.

On what a cathedral is, see the cathedral; every see church on earth is gathered at the cathedrals.

The province of Mercedes-Luján

A suffragan of Mercedes-Luján.

History

A Latin rite suffragan see in central Argentina on the Atlantic coast, the Diocese of Zárate-Campana (Latin: Dioecesis Zaratensis-Campanensis) belongs to the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Mercedes-Luján, its metropolitan having changed from La Plata in 2019. The bishop's seat is Catedral Santa Florentina in Campana, dedicated to Saint Florentina, and the diocese also holds a co-cathedral in Belén de Escobar, likewise in Buenos Aires Province: Cocatedral Natividad del Señor, dedicated to the Nativity of Our Lord.
