Latin-rite metropolitan archdiocese in the Katanga copperbelt of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, established in 1910 as the Apostolic Prefecture of Katanga, promoted to Metropolitan Archdiocese of Elisabethville on 10 November 1959, and renamed Lubumbashi on 30 May 1966. Its seat is the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Lubumbashi. Suffragans: Kalemie-Kirungu, Kamina, Kilwa-Kasenga, Kolwezi, Kongolo, Manono, and Sakania-Kipushi.
