It is a suffragan of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Owando and its seat is the Cathedral of Saint Peter Claver. Bishop Brice Armand Ibombo has led the diocese since 28 May 2025.

Seated in the city of Ouésso, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ouesso (Latin: Dioecesis Uessitana) belongs to the ecclesiastical province of Owando in the Republic of the Congo. Gélase Armel Kema is the current bishop.
