The Archdiocese of Hankou is a Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese based in Hankou, Wuhan, Hubei, China, with St. Joseph's Cathedral as its seat. After a long vacancy dating from 1961, Franciscan Francis Cui Qingqi was ordained bishop for the see on 8 September 2021 under the China-Vatican provisional agreement.

History

Based in Hankou, Wuhan, in China's Hubei province, this Latin Rite metropolitan archdiocese (Latin: Hancheuvensis, Chinese: 漢口) has its archiepiscopal see at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Hankou, Wuhan. Owing to the political situation, it has been a vacant, underground archdiocese without an apostolic administrator since 1961.
