Latin rite missionary apostolic vicariate covering the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador. Established as the Apostolic Prefecture of Galapagos on 6 May 1950 and elevated to an apostolic vicariate by Pope Benedict XVI on 15 July 2008. Its seat is the Catedral La Inmaculada in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on San Cristobal Island, and Vicar Apostolic Aureo Patricio Bonilla Bonilla, O.F.M. has led it since 2013.

History
On the Galápagos Islands off Ecuador's Pacific coast, coinciding with the insular province of the same name, the Roman Catholic Church maintains a missionary pre-diocesan jurisdiction, the Apostolic Vicariate of Galápagos (Latin: Apostolicus Vicariatus Galapagensis). Its cathedral, the Marian Catedral La Inmaculada dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, stands in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on San Cristóbal Island. Exempt from any ecclesiastical province and directly subject to the Holy See, the vicariate comprises ten parishes serving both locals and visitors to the World Heritage Site natural reserve.
