Latin-rite apostolic vicariate in Ecuador's Morona-Santiago Amazon province, established on 17 February 1893 from the Vicariate Apostolic of Napo and entrusted to the Salesians. It is exempt, directly subject to the Holy See, with its cathedral, the Catedral Purisima de Macas, in the city of Macas. Bishop Nestor Montesdeoca Becerra, S.D.B., has been vicar apostolic since April 2008.
