History

Covering the whole of Estonia, the Diocese of Tallinn is a Latin Church diocese whose cathedral episcopal see, the St. Peter and St. Paul's Cathedral, stands in Tallinn. From its formation in 1924 until 2024 it was an apostolic administration, a quasi-diocesan jurisdiction of the Latin Catholic Church in Estonia. The office of apostolic administrator was often filled by titular archbishops who simultaneously served in the diplomatic corps of the Holy See as nuncio to Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
