Latin-rite diocese in Andalusia, Spain, erected on 21 May 1492 after the Reconquista and suffragan of the Archdiocese of Granada. Its seat is the Cathedral of Our Lady of Sorrows (the fortress-cathedral of Almeria). Bishop Antonio Gomez Cantero has led the diocese since his appointment on 30 November 2021.
