Latin Church metropolitan archdiocese in central Madagascar, established in 1913 and elevated to an archdiocese in 1958. It is the metropolitan see for the suffragan dioceses of Ambositra, Farafangana, Ihosy, and Mananjary, and has been led by Archbishop Fulgence Rabemahafaly since 2002.

History
One of the five Catholic Metropolitan Latin Archdioceses in Madagascar, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Fianarantsoa nonetheless depends on the missionary Roman Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. Its cathedral archiepiscopal see is the Cathédrale du Saint-Nom de Jésus, dedicated to the Name of Jesus, in Fianarantsoa, Fianarantsoa province. Fulgence Rabemahafaly is the present archbishop.
