A see whose chair stands empty is recorded as vacant rather than filled with a guess. On what a bishop is, see the bishop.

History

Since 30 November 2011 the Roman Catholic Diocese of Gaoua in Burkina Faso has been led by Ollo Modeste Kambou, a Burkinabe prelate born on 4 December 1963. Pope Benedict XVI named him bishop on that date, the same day the Holy Father created the diocese of Diébougou as a suffragan of Bobo-Dioulasso. Before his episcopal appointment, Kambou had served from 28 December 1991 until 30 November 2011 as a priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Diébougou in the Metropolitan Province of Bobo-Dioulasso. His ordination and installation took place at Gaoua, Burkina Faso, on 18 February 2012, with Archbishop Vito Rallo, Titular Archbishop of Alba, presiding.

This see keeps no website of its own, so the address of its diocesan offices is published here: withholding it would protect nothing and leave a reader with nowhere to go. Where a see publishes its own site, the register sends you there instead.
