The Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly is a Latin metropolitan see covering most of County Tipperary and parts of County Limerick in Ireland, with Cashel raised to an archdiocese at the Synod of Kells in 1152 and the sees of Cashel and Emly long united (formally renamed the metropolitan see of Cashel and Emly in 2015). It has been led by Archbishop Kieran O'Reilly, S.M.A., since 2014.

History

In mid-western Ireland stands the Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly (Irish: Ard-Deoise Chaisil agus Imligh), a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church and the metropolis of the ecclesiastical province that bears its name. Its cathedral church is the Cathedral of the Assumption in Thurles, County Tipperary. As of 2024 the archbishop is Kieran O'Reilly.
