An eparchy (Eastern Catholic diocese) of the East Syriac Rite Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, Chanda is suffragan to the Syro-Malabar Archeparchy of Kalyan. St. Thomas Cathedral in Ballarpur, in India's Maharashtra state, serves as its cathedral episcopal see.
