History
Within the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Syro-Malabar Catholic Archeparchy of Thrissur, the Eparchy of Irinjalakuda is a suffragan eparchy (Eastern Catholic diocese) of the Syro-Malabar Church, located in Thrissur District of Kerala state, southern India. Saint Thomas Cathedral in Irinjalakuda city serves as its cathedral episcopal see, and Bishop Pauly Kannookkadan now heads the diocese. The former cathedral (of Arch diocese of Crangannore).
