The Archdiocese of Khartoum is the Latin Metropolitan see covering Sudan, with origins in the Apostolic Vicariate of Central Africa established in 1846 and promoted to metropolitan archdiocese in 1974. Its seat is St. Matthew's Cathedral in Khartoum, and its lone suffragan is the Diocese of El Obeid.

History
Sudan's national capital, Khartoum, holds the episcopal seat of the Archdiocese of Khartoum (Latin: Khartumen(sis)), a Latin Church jurisdiction of the Catholic Church. As head of an ecclesiastical province that includes the suffragan Diocese of El Obeid, its reach extends over the whole of Sudan.
