The Archdiocese of Mobile is the Latin Church metropolitan see covering the lower half of Alabama. Erected as a diocese in 1829 and elevated to archdiocese in 1980, it is led by Archbishop Mark Steven Rivituso, who took office in July 2025.

History

Southern Alabama in the United States is served by the Archdiocese of Mobile (Latin: Archidiœcesis Mobiliensis), established as an archdiocese in 1980. Its mother church is the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Mobile, Alabama.
