The Diocese of Mogadishu is the sole Latin Church diocese in Somalia, immediately subject to the Holy See. The see has been vacant since the assassination of Bishop Salvatore Colombo in 1989, and Bishop Giorgio Bertin of Djibouti has served as apostolic administrator since 2001.
