Western and central Arizona are served by the Diocese of Phoenix (Latin: Dioecesis Phoenicensis; Spanish: Diócesis de Phoenix), established in 1969 as a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. It ranks as the second largest Catholic diocese in the United States. John P. Dolan is its bishop.
