The Archdiocese of Karachi is the Latin rite metropolitan see for the city of Karachi, Pakistan, with the Diocese of Hyderabad as its suffragan. Erected on 20 May 1948 as a diocese under Bombay, it was elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese on 15 July 1950. Its seat is St. Patrick's Cathedral in Karachi.

History

Erected on 20 May 1948, the Archdiocese of Karachi is a Latin Church territory of the Catholic Church in Pakistan. It began as a suffragan diocese within the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Bombay.
