The Archdiocese of Puebla de los Ángeles is the oldest Catholic diocese in Mexico, established in 1525 as the Diocese of Tlaxcala and elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese in 1903. It is led by Archbishop Víctor Sánchez Espinosa and oversees the suffragan dioceses of Huajuapan de León, Tehuacán, and Tlaxcala.

History
Mexico's oldest Catholic diocese is the Archdiocese of Puebla de los Ángeles (Latin: Archidioecesis Angelorum), a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory established on October 13, 1525 as the "Diocese of Tlaxcala". It kept that name until its elevation to an archdiocese in 1903. A new Diocese of Tlaxcala, created in 1959, is now suffragan to the Archdiocese of Puebla de los Ángeles.
