History
On the island of Réunion, the Catholic Church maintains the Diocese of Saint-Denis de La Réunion (Latin: Dioecesis Sancti Dionysii Reunionis; French: Diocèse de Saint-Denis de La Réunion), a Latin Church diocese immediately subject to the Holy See. Belonging to no ecclesiastical province, it is instead a member of the Episcopal Conference of the Indian Ocean, alongside Comoros, Mauritius and Seychelles. Its cathedral church is the Cathedral of Saint-Denis (French: Cathédrale de Saint-Denis de La Réunion) in Saint-Denis.
