In the Western United States, the Chaldean Catholic Church maintains the Chaldean Eparchy of Saint Peter the Apostle (Latin: Eparchia Sancti Petri Apostoli urbis Sancti Didaci Chaldaeorum). Its worship follows the Syro-Oriental Rite in the Syriac/Arameic language. The eparchy is exempt, meaning it answers immediately to the Holy See and belongs to no ecclesiastical province.
