History
Seated in Košice, where the Cathedral of St. Elizabeth stands, this Latin archdiocese of eastern Slovakia (Slovak: Košická arcidiecéza, Latin: Archidioecesis Cassoviensis) takes in the central and eastern parts of the Prešov and Košice regions. Its territory extends over 10,403 km2 and holds a total population of 1,153,505, of whom roughly 61% were Catholic as of 2012.
