History
Southern Missouri in the United States is the territory of this Latin Church diocese (Latin: Dioecesis Campifontis-Capitis Girardeauensis), a suffragan within the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Saint Louis. Unusually, it maintains two cathedrals: St. Agnes Cathedral in Springfield and the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Annunciation in Cape Girardeau. Edward M. Rice is its bishop as of 2023.
