History
Thirteen counties of southeastern Ohio in the United States make up the Diocese of Steubenville (Latin: Dioecesis Steubenvicensis), a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Holy Name Cathedral in Steubenville remains the official seat of the diocese, though it has been closed since 2014. As of February 2025 the see is vacant, with Edward M. Lohse, bishop of the Diocese of Kalamazoo, serving as apostolic administrator.
