History
Within the ecclesiastical province of Kyiv-Halych, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church maintains the Eparchy of Sambir-Drohobych. Yulian Voronovskyi, M.S.U., became its first eparch by appointment of Pope John Paul II on 30 March 1994, after serving as Archiepiscopal Administrator from the eparchy's founding in 1993.
