History
In the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, within the Marche region of central Italy, lies the Archdiocese of Urbino-Urbania-Sant'Angelo in Vado (Latin: Archidioecesis Urbinatensis-Urbaniensis-Sancti Angeli in Vado), a Latin Church territory of the Catholic Church. It was formerly a metropolitan see. Sandro Salvucci, appointed in January 2023, is the current archbishop. Its cathedral in Urbino, the Basilica Cattedrale di S. Maria Assunta, is both a minor basilica and a World Heritage Site.
