Latin rite diocese in Monagas state, eastern Venezuela, with its see at Maturin. Erected 24 May 1958 by Pope Pius XII from the Diocese of Ciudad Bolivar; it is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Ciudad Bolivar. Its cathedral is the Catedral Nuestra Senora del Carmen in Maturin.
