The Melkite Greek Catholic Apostolic Exarchate of Venezuela was erected on 19 February 1990 by Pope John Paul II via the bull Quo longius, covering all Melkite faithful in the country. Exempt and dependent on the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches, its seat is the Cathedral of St. George (Catedral San Jorge) in Caracas, with five parishes nationwide.

History
For the faithful of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, all of Venezuela falls under a single missionary pre-diocesan jurisdiction, the Apostolic Exarchate of Venezuela (Latin: Exarchatus Apostolicus Caracensis Graecorum Melkitarum, meaning of Caracas). The exarchate belongs to no ecclesiastical province, Melkite or Latin, being immediately exempt to the Holy See, notably the Congregation for the Oriental Churches.
