The Latin rite Archdiocese of Hue in central Vietnam was erected as the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Cochinchina on 27 August 1850 and elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese on 24 November 1960. It heads the ecclesiastical province of Hue with five suffragan dioceses (Ban Me Thuot, Da Nang, Kontum, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon). Its cathedral is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Phu Cam Cathedral).

History
Central Vietnam's Archdiocese of Huế (Latin: Archidioecesis Huéensis) took its present form by declaration on 24 November 1960 and covers an area of 12,227 km2. Since 2016 it has been led by Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh, previously the Bishop of Thanh Hóa. Five suffragan sees answer to it: the Dioceses of Ban Mê Thuột, Đà Nẵng, Kontum, Nha Trang, and Quy Nhơn.
