The Latin rite Diocese of Phan Thiet in Binh Thuan Province, southern Vietnam, was erected on 30 January 1975 from territory of the Diocese of Nha Trang. A suffragan of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City, its cathedral is the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Phan Thiet.

History
Declared in its present form on 30 January 1975, the Diocese of Phan Thiết (Latin: Dioecesis Phanthietensis) covers 7,854 km² of Vietnam as a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Saigon. On 25 July 2009 Pope Benedict XVI selected Monsignor Joseph Vũ Duy Thống as bishop; he served until his death in 2017. By 2004 the diocese counted about 147,000 believers (13.3% of the population), 80 priests, and 64 parishes.
