The Latin rite Archdiocese of Samoa-Apia covers the Independent State of Samoa. Erected as the Apostolic Vicariate of the Navigators' Archipelago on 20 August 1850, it was elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese on 10 September 1982, with the Diocese of Samoa-Pago Pago and the Mission Sui Iuris of Tokelau as suffragans. Its cathedral is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Apia.
