Latin rite diocese in the Bolivian altiplano, erected 11 November 1924, and a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Cochabamba. Its seat is the Cathedral of the Assumption in Oruro. Bishop Krzysztof Bialasik, S.V.D., a Polish-born missionary, has led the diocese since 30 June 2005.

Within Bolivia's ecclesiastical province of Cochabamba lies the Diocese of Oruro (Latin: Dioecesis Orurensis), seated in the city of the same name.
