Latin-rite diocese covering the diamond city of Mbuji-Mayi in Kasai-Oriental Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo, established as an Apostolic Administration on 22 November 1963 from the Archdiocese of Luluabourg and the Diocese of Kabinda, and elevated to diocese on 3 May 1966. Its seat is the Cathedrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Bonzola, and it is a suffragan of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kananga.
