Latin Church diocese seated at Yan'an in Shaanxi, China, suffragan of the Archdiocese of Xi'an. Its lineage begins with the Apostolic Vicariate of Shensi, established on October 15, 1696 from the Diocese of Nanjing, and after several renamings it was promoted to the Diocese of Yan'an on April 11, 1946. Bishop John Baptist Yang Xiaoting has led the diocese since 2011.
