The Diocese of Honolulu encompasses the State of Hawaii and was erected as a diocese in 1941. Pope Leo XIV accepted the resignation of Bishop Larry Silva on May 6, 2026, and named Father Michael Castori, S.J., as his successor, with installation set for July 28, 2026.
