Latin-rite diocese in southern Haiti, erected 3 October 1861 following the Concordat of 1860 between Pope Pius IX and Haiti. Suffragan of the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince, with its seat at Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral in Les Cayes. Its bishop since 2011, Chibly Langlois, became Haiti's first cardinal in 2014.

The date 3 October 1861 marks the erection of the Diocese of Les Cayes (Latin: Dioecesis Caiesensis; French: Diocèse des Cayes; Haitian Creole: Dyosèz Okay), which serves as a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince.
