The Diocese of Darjeeling is a Latin rite diocese in northern West Bengal, India, whose territory also includes Bhutan; it began as a Mission Sui Iuris on 15 February 1929 and was erected as a diocese in 1962, suffragan of the Archdiocese of Calcutta. Its seat is the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Darjeeling.

History
A Latin Church jurisdiction of the Catholic Church in India, the Diocese of Darjeeling is a suffragan of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Calcutta while depending on the missionary Dicastery for Evangelization. Its territory takes in the independent Himalayan country of Bhutan, where Christianity is practiced by a tiny minority and proselytism is forbidden. The Marian Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Darjeeling, West Bengal state, India, serves as its cathedral episcopal see.
