The Major Archeparchy of Ernakulam-Angamaly in Kerala, India, is the see of the Major Archbishop and head of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. Established as a vicariate by Pope Leo XIII on 28 July 1896, it became the see of the Syro-Malabar hierarchy in 1923 and the major archiepiscopal see in 1992. Its seat is St Mary's Cathedral Basilica in Ernakulam, with Kothamangalam and Idukki as suffragan eparchies.

History
As the see of the Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, the Archeparchy of Ernakulam-Angamaly holds the rank of major archeparchy, a status it has carried since 1992, when the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church was raised to a major archiepiscopal church with Ernakulam-Angamaly as the primatal see. Its major archbishop, the chief bishop of the jurisdiction, is at the same time the head of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church.
