Syro-Malabar metropolitan archeparchy in northern Kerala, India, erected as the Eparchy of Tellicherry on 31 December 1953 by Pope Pius XII and raised to a metropolitan archeparchy on 18 May 1995. Its seat is St Joseph's Cathedral in Thalassery.

History
Tellicherry, anglicized also as the Archdiocese of Thalassery, is an archeparchy of the Syro-Malabar Church in India. Because settlers had spread into the neighbouring States, the boundaries of the Thalassery ecclesiastical province were extended to take in Mangalore, Chickmangalore, Mysore, Shimoga and Ootty. The diocese spans 18,000 km2 and counts a Catholic population of 273,826. Joseph Pamplany has served as Metropolitan Archbishop since 2022.
