Latin-rite metropolitan archdiocese in Andhra Pradesh, India, with origins in the 1845 Apostolic Pro-Vicariate of Vizagapatam, erected as the Diocese of Vizagapatam in 1886 and elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese on 16 October 2001. Seated at St Peter's Cathedral in Visakhapatnam, its suffragans are Eluru, Guntur, Nellore, Srikakulam and Vijayawada.
