Archdiocese of Trujillo

Truxillen(sis)

Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese on Peru's northern coast, erected in 1577 as the Diocese of Trujillo and elevated to metropolitan rank in 1943. Its mother church is the Cathedral Basilica of St. Mary in Trujillo, and its suffragans include Cajamarca, Chimbote, Huaraz, Huari, Huamachuco and Moyobamba. Archbishop Gilberto Alfredo Vizcarra Mori, S.J., was appointed 11 February 2025.
