Latin rite diocese in northeastern Thailand, created on 7 May 1953 as the Prefecture Apostolic of Udon Thani from the Vicariate Apostolic of Thare and elevated to a diocese on 18 December 1965. A suffragan of the Archdiocese of Thare and Nonseng, its seat is the Cathedral of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Udon Thani.
