History

Together with one other archdiocese and their suffragan sees, the Archdiocese of Vercelli (Latin: Archidioecesis Vercellensis) forms the ecclesiastical region of Piedmont in northern Italy. This Latin Metropolitan archdiocese has its archbishop's seat in the Basilica Cattedrale di S. Eusebio in Vercelli, Piemonte (Piedmont), a minor basilica dedicated to the see's canonized first bishop. Two further minor basilicas stand in the city: the Basilica di S. Andrea and the Basilica di S. Maria Maggiore.
