Archbishop Erio Castellucci ordains Sebastian Monteleone as deacon

Archbishop Erio Castellucci ordained Sebastian Monteleone as a deacon on Saturday, 24 October, at the Abbey of Nonantola.

Monteleone, 26, is from Pavullo and serves in Cibeno di Carpi. During the ordination, Archbishop Castellucci told the new deacon that the commandment of love is the heart of the Gospel and the meaning of the diaconate. The Archbishop described the deacon as a servant of Christ for a Church that brings the love of God to the world and reaches the most fragile.

Monteleone previously told local media that he discovered his vocation at age 11 while serving at the altar and working with catechism students. He stated that he did not become a deacon for himself, but for the Church and the community.
