Archdiocese of Goa e Damão conducts ecology quiz

The Archdiocese of Goa e Damão held the Rev. Fr. Dr. Bolmax Pereira Memorial Inter-School Ecology Quiz on September 10, 2026, at St. Anne’s Church Hall in Ponda. Organized by the St. Anne’s Church Ponda 8th Centenary Committee, the event coincided with the Season of Creation 2026 and the 8th centenary of St. Francis of Assisi.

Twenty-seven school teams from across Goa participated in the competition. Each team included two students from Class IX. The quiz, led by quiz master Dr. Kennedy D’Silva, tested students on topics such as biodiversity, water conservation, climate change, renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable living. Questions also covered Goa’s natural heritage.

The Archdiocese organized the event through the Diocesan Commission for Ecology, the Archdiocesan Board of Education, and the Diocesan Society of Education. The quiz serves as a tribute to Fr. Bolmax Pereira to encourage ecological awareness and environmental responsibility among young people.
