Archdiocese of Oviedo to commemorate Beatos Seminaristas Mártires

The Metropolitan Seminary of Oviedo will hold commemorations for the Blessed Martyr Seminarians from November 3 to 6. The program includes a Triduum, a prayer vigil, and the institution of four seminarians into the ministries of lector and acolyte.

The Triduum will take place at 20 h from November 3 to 5 in the seminary's main chapel. On November 3, the Eucharist will be presided over by Father José Luis González, the episcopal delegate for liturgy. On November 4, Father Andrés Fernández, the episcopal vicar of Avilés-Occidente, will preside. On November 5, Father Edgar Barboza, a parochial vicar, will preside. A prayer vigil will follow on Friday.

The final celebration will occur on November 6 at 20 h in the main chapel. Archbishop Jesús Sanz Montes will preside over this Eucharist, during which four seminarians will be instituted as lectors and acolytes. The seminary community stated these events serve to remember the faith of the seminarians who died before their priestly ordination and to pray for new vocations.
