Arcidiocesi di Ancona-Osimo holds diocesan conference

The Archdiocese of Ancona-Osimo held a diocesan conference on September 19 to discuss guidelines for implementing the summary document of the synodal path for churches in Italy. The event, titled Rooted and Built in Christ, took place at the Santa Maria di Loreto parish and brought together parishes, ecclesial groups, movements, diocesan offices, catechists, and religion teachers.

Monsignor Gianpiero Palmieri, the Archbishop of Ascoli Piceno and San Benedetto del Tronto-Ripatransone-Montalto, served as the speaker for the meeting. Diocesan synodal path representatives Lucia Panzini and Daniele Sandroni opened the conference by noting that the recent years of the process helped communities practice a style of synodality based on listening, dialogue, and community discernment.

Archbishop Angelo Spina reviewed the progress of the process since it began in 2021. He stated that people in the Archdiocese of Ancona-Osimo participated in synodal discussions during the initial narrative phase. This was followed by a wisdom phase from 2023 to 2024 focused on discerning what was heard, leading into a prophetic phase intended to identify specific choices and concrete proposals.
