Arquidiocese de Florianópolis participates in International Sacred Music Week in Rome

A group from the Archdiocese of Florianópolis participated in the International Sacred Music Meeting in Rome from September 27 to October 4. Organized by the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music, the event brought together musicians from around the world for choral practice, musical education, and liturgical celebrations.

The participants, including Júlio da Silva, Ana Paula Beltrame, Renata Ferla, and conductor Miguel Phillipe, studied a repertoire that included Gregorian chant, Classical works, and contemporary compositions. They performed choral music during daily Vespers and Holy Mass, as well as during a concert held during the meeting. The program also included music education courses designed for teaching children and youth within the context of sacred music.

The event concluded with the group performing during Sunday Mass at St. Peter's Basilica. Following the celebration, the participants received a greeting and blessing from the Pope during the Angelus prayer.
