Autoridades católicas no Peru falam sobre a visita do Papa

Representatives of the Archdiocese of Lima confirmed on Tuesday that Pope Leo XIV's planned visit to Peru remains scheduled for November 6 to 17. This confirmation comes following the Pope's recent surgery to treat lung cancer.

Father Juan Bytton, who is organizing the Pope's visit to Lima, told reporters that coordination with Rome is ongoing. He noted that the Vatican has requested additional medical equipment for the ambulances planned for the trip to ensure the Pope's health needs are met in Lima and other cities.

While the Pope's chief surgeon stated he could be fully recovered in time for the trip, the Vatican Secretary of State indicated that the schedule might be adjusted to support his recovery. The upcoming journey through Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru is one of the most intensive itineraries planned for a Catholic leader in recent decades.
