Hundreds march for life in Berlin and Cologne

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Thousands of people marched in Berlin and Cologne on Saturday to protest abortion and assisted suicide. Organized by the Bundesverband Lebensrecht (BVL), the March for Life began at noon in both cities. Die Tagespost reported that 6,000 participants took part in the demonstrations.

Catholic bishops Rudolf Voderholzer of Regensburg and Stefan Oster of Passau joined the march. Bishop Oster told the Passauer Bistumsblatt that the Church must be a guardian of the human person and their dignity.

The demonstrations faced protests in both locations. In Berlin, the Bündnis für sexuelle Selbstbestimmung called for the legalization of abortion. In Cologne, the Bündnis Pro Choice Köln organized protests. Police managed the counter-demonstrators.
